Pure Tennis Training Summer Camp 

at Columbia University 

June 24th - August 16*

Monday through Friday

*July 1-5 off

Pure Tennis Training Summer Camp is situated at the Milstein Family Tennis Center, home of the nationally renowned Columbia Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs. The camp offers its expertise to all players, regardless of level, who want to improve their tennis in a serious, professional environment at New York’s premier tennis facility. The on-court experience, led by a team of acclaimed coaches focuses on technique and movement and includes strength, conditioning, speed and agility training, intensive drills, individual instruction and match play.

Ages 7-18

All levels welcome.

Per NCAA rules, all sport camps and clinics conducted by Pure Tennis Training Summer Camp are open to any and all entrants and enrollment is only limited based on age, grade level, and/or number restrictions as specified by each camp.

Tennis - ALL LEVELS

Our Camp Directors and Coaches evaluate students and place them in appropriate groups and programs.

The training is intensive and designed to move each student to their next level.

Meet our Team

Director

Keith Kambourian

Keith graduated from Duke University as their Men's Varsity #1 Singles player. A two-time USTA Long Island Professional of the Year, and one of New York's most successful junior coaches for three decades, Kambourian most recently served as the Program Director of the Lacoste Junior Tennis Academy at the City Parks Foundation. He has been involved with City Parks Lacoste Junior Tennis Academy since 2002 as a volunteer, patron, advisor and at his most recent role as the Director of Tennis at MFTC.

 

In 2021, City Parks honored Kambourian at the US Open Tennis Championships with the Vitas Gerulaitis Community Service Award for his tenured commitment to the organization.


For 25 years, Kambourian was the co-owner and director of the Bethpage Tennis Center on Long Island, where he helped develop hundreds of nationally ranked players, including several junior Wimbledon competitors. He is a past recipient of the George Seewagen Award, given to a USTA Eastern teaching professional who exemplifies excellence in competition, sportsmanship and love of the game.

Director

Doug Saputo

Doug began playing tennis in Douglaston, Queens along with other local juniors who went on to play college and/or professional tennis.

His junior tennis training continued at the acclaimed Port Washington Tennis Academy under the tutelage of Harry Hopman, famed Australian Davis Cup Captain. It was here that Doug developed his passion for intensive training. His training and coaching principles reach directly back to the source, Harry Hopman.

 

Doug Saputo (‘81CC) his brother Paul Saputo (‘83CC) and his sister Teresa Saputo-Crerend (‘87CC) all played on Columbia’s Varsity Tennis teams.

Director

Marco Kroes

Marco Kroes is a professional ATP coach. He is the former coach of Joran Vliegen, Sander Gille, Lukasz Kubot, Jean-Julien Roger, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Rohan Bopanna and Wesley Koolhof.

 

In 2020 he was named ATP Doubles coach of the year. At the 2020/21 Japan Olympics he coached the Belgian and Dutch teams simultaneously.

 

Marco has settled here at Columbia University bringing with him a wealth of international experience and excellence. He is also the current Head Coach of Boys Varsity Tennis at Ethical Culture Fieldston School in Bronx, NY.
